Seeing is believing
These uniquely Canadian, award-winning Wavedecks are a hit with the public and design community.
A key feature of Waterfront Toronto’s central waterfront design is a series of wooden wavedecks inspired by the Canadian cottage experience and the shorelines of Ontario’s great lakes.
Before the wavedecks existed, the areas were simply narrow and congested sidewalks with virtually no public access to the lake.
Each of the unique urban docks was built out over the water creating generous public gathering spaces along one of the most heavily used parts of the Toronto shoreline.
These three iconic wavedecks are both beautiful pieces of public art and functional waterside public spaces where people can gather and relax by the lake.
